The geometric patterns of a
mandala represent the essence of
the universe as a harmonious
system. Weaving, as a structure and
order. By combining plastics and
wire, Anastasia utilizes a traditional
textile technique in which two distinct
layers are loom-woven
simultaneously. The layers undulate
and intersect, exploring the grace of
geometry.
creates sculpture and
jewelry, woven on a
floor loom with metals
and plastics. Her forms
are inspired by the
elegance of geometry.

Artist Statement

By interlacing textiles
with jewelry metal arts, I
combine an ancient
cloth-making technique
with contemporary
materials to create
dimensional weave
jewelry. The
gracefulness of supple
curves and the beauty
of geometry are
expressed through
undulating forms of
metal and monofilament.
